STEPHEN STRAWBRIDGE (co-chair, Design Department; Resident Lighting designer, Yale Repertory Theatre) has worked on and off Broadway, at most leading regional theatres and opera companies across the US and internationally in Bergen, Copenhagen, The Hague, Hong Kong, Linz, Lisbon, Munich, Naples, Sao Paulo, Stockholm, and Vienna. Notable productions include: When We Dead Awaken, Danton's Death and Hamlet, a Monologue with Robert Wilson; An Uncertain Hour, Orfeo ed Eurydice, Marco Polo and Vers la Flamme with Martha Clarke; Terrence McNally's A Perfect Ganesh for Manhattan Theatre Club; Craig Lucas' A Prayer for My Enemy and Singing Forest, directed by Bartlett Sher for the Intiman Theatre and Playwrights Horizons; Michael John LaChiusa's Bernarda Alba and the Ahrens/Flaherty musical The Glorious Ones, both directed by Graciela Daniel for Lincoln Center Theatre; Battle of Black and Dogs, and Richard II, directed by Robert Woodruff for Yale Rep and American Repertory Theatre; Athol Fugard's Coming Home and Have You Seen Us, directed by Gordon Edelstein for Long Wharf and Berkeley Rep; Ariodante for New York City Opera; Madame Butterfly for San Francisco Opera; Cosi fan Tutte and The Marriage of Figaro for Houston Grand Opera, and Rigoletto for Dallas Opera. He has many works in the repertory of Pilobolus Dance Theatre and other modern dance companies. He has been nominated for or won the American Theatre Wing, Bay Area Critics Circle, Dallas Theater Critics Forum, Helen Hayes, Henry Hewes Design, Lucille Lortel and Outer Critics Circle Awards.
